The construction of the annex and utility shed was the second stage of a three stage project at Longbeach bay in the Marlborough sounds.
The Annex features painted rustic macrocarpa linings and a natural colour palette. A bunk room for the kids, a fold down bed in the games room to allow for overflow guests and a bathroom. In the centre there is an covered BBQ and dining space which flows to the living space with fire. The hearth is constructed from rocks found on the property.
The feature of the annex is the incredible outdoor fire and entertaining space. The concrete walls were poured in three stages with featured woodgrain. With access to site being severely limited, the concrete for the fireplace was delivered via helicopter.
The Utility shed was all about function. A place for everything and everything in its place. Clad in standing seam Spanlok to match the Boatshed it also has a convenient woodstore is also attached to the building.
